As if we hadn't had enough of Disney yet, we decided to take the girls to Disney on Ice less than two weeks after we got back from California. At least this Disney adventure was in our same town, so not as much travel time, but so much fun. The three older girls and I went with three other moms with their daughters from our ward while Tyler and Taryn stayed home and watched BYU football, so we were all happy. I took our first picture as we walked in from the parking lot telling everyone that we had to make our memories. We were able to get all of our tickets relatively together so we almost had an entire row to ourselves.
Before the show started, we were able to take turns as families checking out the souvenirs and snacks. This is when we found the carriage made out of Legos for a picture opportunity. The girls decided on cotton candy which came with a crown and stickers to decorate the crown. That was our souvenir and luckily they were good with sharing it.
They performed three stories each presented by Mickey and his friends. The first story was Tiana in the Princess and the Frog. They had a lot of special effects as the performers changed from human to frog and back again, and just the fact that everyone was on ice skates was really awesome to watch.
The next story was Cinderella. The mice were cool, but I really liked the carriage and horses (that were also on skates).
The final story was Rapunzel in Tangled. I think this was everyone's favorite. They did some aerial acts with ribbons (which was representing her long hair) that were just amazing. They also had Max, the horse, played by two ice skaters, and they were super talented. I loved seeing him come out on the ice every time.
Finally, as a surprise to us, they brought out all the princesses in their finale number. Aubrey was so excited because she had really wanted to see Belle's story, so she was super happy to at least get to see Belle and her prince. It was so cool to hear everyone cheering as each new princess came out of the castle.
I got one picture with me and the girls during intermission. Tessa is wearing the crown that came with the cotton candy. Abby had brought her own crown from home to "dress up" for the performance.
I was able to get the girls from our seats with the ice/stage setup behind them. And we took one final picture of all the girls a little closer to the stage (except Aubrey who didn't want to be in it) as we were leaving the arena.
It ended pretty late, but everyone stayed awake until we hit the drive home where I think every kid fell asleep quickly. This is how we found Tessa when we dropped off our friends. Too funny to not take a picture. We all had a great time.
